Henry Louis Vivian Derozio was born on 18 April 1809 in Entally,Kolkata. His father’s name was Francis Derozio and mother’s name was Sophie Johnson. He took his schooling from David Drummond’s ‘Dhurramtallah Academy’. He served as a teacher of English literature and History in Hindu College. His great achievements were Assistant editor of ‘The India Gazette’, editor of ‘The Calcutta Gazette,’ ‘The East Indian’ and ‘The Bengal Annual’ ‘ etc. His notable works were’ ‘To India, my Native Land’,’ The harp of India ‘,’ The Fakir of Jungheera’ etc. He took his last breath on 26th December 1831..

Answer: Henry Louis Vivian Derozio was born on 18 April 1809 in Kolkata to Francis Derozio and Sophie Johnson. He studied at Dhurramtallah Academy and later became a teacher at Hindu College, where he taught English and History. Derozio was a kind and inspiring teacher, and his students admired him a lot. He also worked for newspapers like The India Gazette and wrote many poems. Some of his famous poems are To India, My Native Land and The Harp of India. He encouraged young people to think freely and question old ideas. Derozio played an important role in spreading new thoughts among students. He worked hard to bring change through his writing and teaching. Sadly, he died on 26 December 1831 at a young age. People still remember him for his ideas and poems.
